When is Microsoft’s MWC press conference?
The event is on Sunday 24 February and will start at 18:00 CET, so that’s 5pm in the UK or 12am ET if you’re in the US.
Where can I watch the HoloLens 2 live stream?
Thankfully, Microsoft has provided a livestream for fans to watch the action unfold from home. We’ve embedded it below, so head back here at 5pm GMT for the latest Microsoft news.
What will Microsoft announce at MWC 2019?
It seems almost certain that Microsoft will be announcing a new HoloLens headset at MWC in Barcelona. The creator, Alex Kipman, posted a teaser video (below) with the words “Are you excited yet? I am!” Letters flash up at the end spelling ‘Barcelona’ followed by the date of the conference. The video doesn’t give much away apart from hinting at a new processor and a carbon fiber construction. It’s thought that the HoloLens 2 will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 chip and will offer a higher resolution display as well as a wider field of view. As you may know, Microsoft makes its own range of Windows 10 Surface devices so we could also see something new there. The line was updated not too long ago with devices like the Surface Go and Surface Laptop 2 so it’s less likely than the HoloLens.
